If it's enjoyable for them then they will definitely be effective communicators using the language. This can be a good credential in the future for them or even in the present. They can be diplomats and serve as great bridges between the Philippines and Korea (or even other countries).
2. It can increase their self-esteem.
This can be the end of the common cause of low self-esteem in Filipino students and adults—being ineffective user of the English language. It doesn't mean that English is no longer a necessary language to learn, but if they have a backup which is the Korean language, then it can help them gain enough confidence as well and it can lead to learning English in an easier way.
3. They can be effective teachers to Korean learners.
Koreans are also eager to learn other languages or mainly English. Now Filipinos who are both into English and Korean language can be their teachers since they will be able to accurately translate terms from English to Korean or vice versa.
4. They can strengthen the ties between Korea and the Philippines even more.
The implementation of Korean language in the Philippines is not going to teach merely the language but also the culture. Once the Filipino learners get to know more about the Korean culture then they will be able to connect with Korean nationals beyond language. It wil be easier for them to be friends and that fact can serve as great foundation for stronger economic relationship between Philippines and Korea.
These are just some of the advantages learning Korean language can give. But after all, we should always keep in mind that honoring our Mother Tongue is still necessary because it serves as our national identity.

The way I see it, learning a foreign language or two is never a bad thing. Due to globalization, people who are bilingual or multilingual are opened to a whole set of opportunities that are not readily available or offered to people who can only speak and understand one language.

To instill a strong national and cultural identity, a strong emphasis on Filipino and local languages must be strictly taught at the elementary and secondary levels. Local literature and history must not be taught through routine spoonfeeding but through the cultivation of appreciation and relating it to life and current events. Introducing a new language will take time and effort away from this.While it is true that speaking and understanding more than one language is beneficial, more emphasis must be placed on English first. Since English is the world's lingua franca, this would benefit more students if they can express themselves eloquently in English.The introduction of languages other than English can be done later on when students are at a more advanced level such as Senior High School or college.Individual or regional students must be given a choice on which language they should be allowed to learn. This is because some languages may benefit a select group of people than others.
